Shillong is a hill station and the capital of Meghalaya and the only hill station in the country that is accessible from all directions. The name Shillong is derived from U-Shyllong, a powerful deity and is situated at an altitude of 1,491m above sea level.
Board on your flight to Guwahati. Arrival Guwahati, Start the journey with your arrival at the Guwahati station/airport, get greeted and straight away get transferred to Shillong. It takes around 3.5 hours to reach this gorgeous hill station of Shillong. On the way, drop by the Borapani Lake, this lake is the biggest artificial lake in the state of Meghalaya. Also known as the Umiam Lake, it is beautifully surrounded by Sylvan hills. On reaching Shillong, check in at the hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure and later retire for the night.
Early morning we will visit the cleanest village (Mawlynnong) in India which is nearly 78 kms from Shillong and just close to the scenic villages; there are interesting sights like the living roots bridge and a beautiful sight boulder balancing on another rock.
Also visit Dwaki Lake and few other spots. Later we will drive to Shillong. On arrival check-in at hotel. Overnight stay in Shillong.
After an early breakfast leave for Cherrapunjee which is barely 65 kms from Shillong. It is the wettest destination in the world and on your drive to Cherrapunjee, you will come across roaring waterfalls diving into unfathomable gorges. Upon arrival check into the hotel.
“Cherrapunjee, officially known as Sohra, is 56 kms from Shillong, and a "must see" destination for all tourists. It also known the wettest place in the earth with a record rainfall. Cherrapunjee was the headquarters of the Khasi & Jaintia province during British rule before shifting to Shillong in 1864 and this was due to the inconvenience caused by excessive rain during the monsoon months. Drive back to Shillong .”
After fresh n-up visit the famous Nohsngithiang Falls, Nohkalikai fall, Mawsmai Cave. Later evening return to hotel for overnight stay.
No early morning wake up, after breakfast check out from the hotel at 11:00 and depart to Guwahati, Arrival and check in Resort, relax and move to explore local places, First visit the famous Kamakhya Temple, 9.8 Kms, we will be covering Srimanta Shnakardev Kalakshetra, state Museum and Emporiums for ethnic local products, Nabagraha Temple, Sukleshwar Temple & Balaji Temple. In the evening visit to the Kalaksgetra, a spot where they exhibit a light and sound show displaying the Assamese culture and history. You can even opt for an evening cruise on the Brahmaputra. (Cruise at Additional expenses). Enjoy an overnight stay in the hotel.
Early Morning after breakfast at around 07:00 AM move to visit Pobitara National Park ( If open) and also visit Sualkuchi, Sualkuchi is a census town in Kamrup district in the Indian state of Assam. It is situated on the north bank of the river Brahmaputra, about 35 km from Guwahati, Sualkuchi is a block of Kamrup District. Evening return back to the hotel, remaning day at leisure and spend overnight at Hotel.
Early morning after having your breakfast at 08:00 AM check out and Transfer to Guwahati Airport. Proceed to the given Airport for your onward journey.
Please note that there are some places at hill station where vehicles are not allowed. You have to manage sightseeing of that place by your own. Parking is always a big problem at hill stations, so sometimes drivers have to Park the vehicle away from the hotel. Please ring your driver 1 hour prior leaving the hotel.

Weather/ Best Time to Visit: : During its peak season, that is from September to June, Nort East draws in many tourists, Still if you inquire the best time to visit Guwahati, Darjeeling, Gangtok etc then the bracing autumn that is the months of September and October and from Spring to summers that is from March to June is the ideal time. The Magh or Bhogali bihu is celebrated during January while the Kati or Kangali bihu is celebrated during September-October period

There are very few direct flights from Madhya Pradesh to North East, specially to Bagdogra or Guwahati, Connecting flight are available from Bhopal and Indore Airport to North east visa New Delhi. There are few direct flight for Kolkatta. Nearest Airport for Darjeeling and Gangtok is Bagdogra, Siliguri, West Bengal. The other major airports connecting Delhi to northeast Guwahati Airport-Assam, Agartala Airport-Tripura, Imphal Airport-Manipur, Shillong Airport-Meghalaya, Aizawl Airport-Mizoram, Dimapur Airport-Nagaland, Dibrugarh Airport- Assam, Tezpur Airport- Arunachal Pradesh.
Trains Available and there timings as on date
The major cities of Madhya Pradesh like Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Ujjain etc. have very few options for North East, there are direct train for New Jalpaiguri, Kolkatta but can get connecting trains from New Delhi etc.
Buses Available and there timings as on date
No direct bus services are available from Madhya Pradesh to North East.
